Kleinfelder’s Rancho Cordova, CA office is seeking a creative, highly talented, Senior Geotechnical Engineer to expand and help lead a team of engineers, manage projects, and develop client portfolios.
The office supports a variety of public and private clients in the areas of commercial development, school and university work, transportation, oil and gas, power and water projects across Central California, and other locations nationally. The emphasis of new position would be to oversee and grow our rail and transportation market as well as to deliver on existing projects across different markets.
As part of the assigned duties the Geotechnical Engineer will develop technical scope for proposals, perform geotechnical engineering design and prepare geotechnical engineering reports as the Geotechnical Engineer of Record. This position will include staff supervision and mentoring to assure delivery of industry-specific solutions to our clients. The successful candidate will assure client needs are met by providing constructible designs, meeting deadlines, and creating clear communications with our clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND COMPETENCIES:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently or in multidisciplinary teamsExperience with performing foundation capacity analysis, slope stability analysis, liquefaction assessments, and settlement analysisExperience planning, implementing, and managing geotechnical exploration programs including assigning laboratory testingExperience guiding staff engineers in performing material and site characterization, seepage, slope stability, settlement analyses, etc.Experience preparing geotechnical reports, drawings, and specifications for foundations and earthwork for a wide range of projects including transportation, water, retail, hospitality, commercial, etc.Experience supporting project managers in budget management, client updates, and general project management tasksExperience preparing and presenting technical presentations to clients and technical review boardsExperience supervising field observation, testing, and performing site visitsAbility to proactively troubleshoot and problem-solve with practical, client-focused solutionsExperience leading teams and professionally develop staff at all levelsAbility to organize priorities and multi-task effectivelyPossess a thirst to learn and achieve continuous improvement in a team environmentRequirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or geotechnical engineering – Master’s preferredRegistered Professional Engineer (PE)10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience in consulting engineering firm or related service businessMove Forward with Kleinfelder

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Pay Transparency Law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: $86,694 - 144,685.
