Role Description
Arcadis Canada is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Lead to lead our expanding business across the country. The successful Senior Geotechnical Lead will have proven experience in establishing and maintaining client relationships and be willing to travel across Canada. They will have a demonstrated capability to lead and motivate team members and have significant consulting experience on large-scale, highly complex geotechnical projects. Experience managing business relationships at the executive level and recognition as an expert in the geotechnical space within Canada is an expectation of this role.
Role Responsibilities
The Senior Geotechnical Lead will ensure that the team will deliver complex projects, ensuring client satisfaction through effective project management, communication, and collaboration. They will design innovative engineering solutions to address complex client problems, promote the involvement of Arcadis Global resources, educate local staff on their benefits, and act as the principal point of contact for clients. The candidate will showcase Arcadis' geotechnical expertise to expand client accounts and secure additional work for Arcadis.
Role Accountabilities
As the Senior Geotechnical Lead, you will be accountable with building the geotechnical business strategy, budgeting, and resource management while managing project financials and maintaining communication with clients and internal stakeholders. You will provide geotechnical support for environmental site remediation, temporary shoring designs, tailings facilities, spillways, and earth dam safety assessments, waste management, landfill designs. Other key parts of this role include reviewing reports prepared by the geotechnical team before client submission, offering technical direction and mentoring to intermediate and junior staff, preparing proposals, budgets, and schedules, and leading business development activities to secure new projects.
Specialized Knowledge
Expertise in the Oil and Gas Sector, Mining Sector, waste management, Rail, Transit, and Pavement Design Landfill and tailings dam design Deep foundations design and installation Environmental contaminant investigation and soil management plans Northern/Arctic engineering and experience with First Nations Proficiency in current geotechnical/hydrogeological software Experience in inspection, testing, vibration analysis, and building condition evaluations Mine waste management and remote site borrow searchesQualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will require:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in geotechnical or a related engineering field Current P.Eng. designation in Ontario.They must also have accumulated 15+ years of experience in geotechnical, geological, or civil engineering fields, subsurface investigations, foundation/shoring recommendations, earth structure design, and/or construction supervision.

The salary range for this position is $109,000-185,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
