The Red Hat Global Accounting function is seeking a Senior GL Accountant to join the Global Accounting and Consolidations team. Responsibilities include consolidating Red Hat results in accordance with US GAAP. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate preparation of consolidated journal entries, reporting, trial balance mapping, and communicating with various stakeholders (Regional Accounting/FP&A/Procurement/Treasury/IT/others) to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and reporting requirements.

Develop, standardize and optimize policies, processes, procedures and business controls to deliver expected valueBenchmark and apply industry and internal best practicesProficiently diagnose and identify problems and needs; define and prioritize improvements, ensure alignment to process vision, strategy and goals.Proactively communicate and overcome barriers to deliver expected outcomesPartner with internal stakeholders to understand reporting deliverables and maintain supporting systems (KNIME, GL Wand, etc.)Prepare supporting documentation and analysis for a broad range of accounting areasSupport audit requests – both external and internalAssist in process control requirements relevant to topic and where appropriate implement process efficienciesModel professionalism and operate in the spirit of teamwork and trust; promote a responsive, supportive and open environment.Prioritize to support ad hoc projects as neededWhat you bring:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting or related field5+ years of accounting experienceAdvanced Excel and analytical skillsExcellent communication skillsThorough understanding of U.S. GAAPKnowledge of major accounting software, specifically experience with Oracle and Concur is a plusGood attitude and willingness to learn new thingsThe salary range for this position is $74,900.00 - $119,830.00. Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
