Join our dynamic team as a **Senior Global Product Consultant** , where you’ll be at the forefront of innovation in Large Excavators (HEXLG). In this exciting role, you’ll become the HEXLG lead for Global Construction Infrastructure (GCI) Division, driving the New Product Introduction (NPI) functional requirements to the Global Product Group (Excavation Division) ensuring we meet our customers’ needs Worldwide (WW). You’ll work closely with customers globally, regional GCI Sales and Application Teams, and the Excavation Division’s New Product Introduction Manager and WW Product Manager, gathering insights, shaping functional specifications, and defining critical requirements for our new HEXLG products.
Your deep expertise will be pivotal in leading competitive tests, evaluations, and analyses, ensuring our products stay ahead of the curve. You’ll guide and inspire a Global Market Team (GMT) of Regional Product Applications Specialists (RPAS), Product Marketing Consultants, and other product experts. Plus, you’ll create and deliver comprehensive training programs for our RPASs and collaborate on global marketing strategies.

**What you will do:**
Lead Global Construction & Infrastructure Division’s (GCI) Global Customer Product and Functional Requirements’ development in support of HEXLG NPI programs. Responsible for developing global critical customer product application requirements and product functional specifications for input to the WW Product Group’s NPI programs and gaining approval from the WW PM and VPs at the NPI Gate Reviews for HEXLG. Specifically:
+ Owns GCI’s marketing requirements and VOC input to New Product Introduction Development: This includes the collection, prioritization and communication of Voice of the Customer, Voice of Dealer, Voice of Machine and Voice of Expert.
+ Defines value of new product features, functional and technical specifications, and general product requirements. Including PINs and pricing recommendations to Global GCI Consultants. Support Value Analysis work for NPI teams especially related to competitive performance, features, maintenance, and repair costs.
+ Identify, manage, and provide reports on competitive performance studies, feature/benefit comparisons and maintenance and repair cost analysis.
+ Apply knowledge of products, technology, industry, customers etc., into strategic planning and Product Group Multi-Generational Product Planning (MGPP). Incumbents may mentor less experienced personnel.
+ Key member of the Next Gen Hydraulic Excavators (NGH) launches for HEXLG responsible for the Global Training Pack execution, training the RPASs and coordinating the marketing machines globally.
**What You Have:**
+ **Technical Excellence** : Deep expertise in Hydraulic Excavators or similar heavy equipment, developing global customer requirements and specifications for NPIs, with a track record in competitive performance studies, value analysis, and cost analysis, translating features into actionable recommendations. Must clearly demonstrate the ability to understand and articulate technical machine performance and application knowledge that allows you to be regarded as an "expert" in product application and specifically for HEXLG.
+ **Strategy** : Ability to bridge customer needs and product vision, identifying portfolio gaps and analyzing trends and demand, performing complex analyses for strategic planning, and communicating customer insights for strategic decision on pricing, features, and customer economics.
+ **Communication** : Exceptional communication skills to convey insights to global teams and executives, preparing and presenting detailed reports for NPI approvals, developing global training programs, and mentoring less experienced personnel.
+ **Customer Focus:** Exceptional customer-back focus in order to develop true customer insights and demonstrate a sense of urgency in their customer back requirements work
**Top Candidates Will Also Have:**
+ Advanced degree in business or engineering
+ Field Rep experience and global work experience
+ Strong ability to navigate and communicate across matrix organization to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment
+ Familiarity with heavy machinery or other similar industries, providing valuable context for immediate contribution
**Locations:**
+ This role can reside in Cary, NC or Peoria, IL.

+ Caterpillar operates in a hybrid work model that requires 3 days per week of onsite work.

**Summary Pay Range:**
$144,960.00 - $217,320.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
