Senior Grant Accountant
Description We are in search of a Senior Grant Accountant to join our team in the non-profit sector, located in Downtown New York. The role is an ongoing contract employment opportunity. As a Grant Accountant, you will handle a portfolio of approximately 90 grants and contracts per year, prepare financial reports and invoices, and ensure financial compliance with government and private foundation funding requirements. Responsibilities: • Oversee a portfolio of various grants and contracts on an annual basis • Compile financial reports and invoices for all grants, ensuring their accuracy and prompt submission to government funders and private foundations • Guarantee financial compliance with government and private foundation funding requirements • Execute journal entries and allocations when necessary • Provide timely and accurate responses to funder-related inquiries from key stakeholders • Participate in the preparation of funder desk audits • Maintain and update financial records and files with precision • Assist in the preparation of specialized financial reports and projections when required • Manage the database of administrative contracts, which includes running queries, reports, and data input • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned • Utilize a variety of software and systems such as Abila MIP, Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, Banner Ads, Bloomberg Terminal, and more to perform accounting functions, auditing, budget processes, capital management, and cash activity. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the non-profit sector. • Proficiency in using Abila MIP. • Strong knowledge of various Accounting Software Systems. • Experience with ADP - Financial Services is necessary. • Familiarity with Banner Ads. • Proficient in using Bloomberg Terminal. • Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions. • Proven experience in Auditing. • Familiarity with Budget Processes. • Knowledge of Capital Management. • Experience in handling Cash Activity.
