The opportunity
The Graphics team is responsible for the core rendering technology that powers Unity’s real-time 3D engine. We are looking for a talented and motivated Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Graphics QA team. In this role, you will work closely with the rest of the Graphics engineering team to develop and maintain test frameworks, automation tools, and performance tests that ensure the quality and performance of Unity’s graphics systems.

You will play a critical role in building the testing infrastructure and improving automated test coverage to support the development of cutting-edge graphics features. As an SDET on this team, you’ll collaborate with engineers and architects across various teams, enabling them to test effectively and ensuring our technology meets high standards for quality and performance.

What you'll be doing

Develop, maintain, and enhance test frameworks and automation tools to support the Graphics engineering team.Provide implementation support, tooling, improved workflows and data visualizations for automated performance tests.Collaborate with engineers and architects to integrate testing into the CI pipeline, ensuring fast feedback on code changes.Identify areas for improving test coverage and provide solutions to ensure comprehensive quality validation.Document tools, processes, and best practices, ensuring effective knowledge sharing across the team.Work closely with the engineering team to ensure tools and frameworks meet their testing needs and improve overall product quality.

What we're looking for

Experience with test frameworks, automation workflows, and development tools.Strong background with CI pipelines and integrating tests into development workflows.Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, C++, or Python.Hands-on experience with performance testing of applications, with an emphasis on stability, efficiency, and optimization.Experience in cross-platform software development, ensuring compatibility and performance across different operating systems and devices.Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills with a focus on quality and efficiency.

You might also have

Familiarity with Unity or other game engine graphics feature sets.Knowledge of GPU architectures, shaders, and performance optimization.Familiarity with graphics APIs (DirectX, Vulkan, Metal, OpenGL)
