We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Hardware Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in both analog and digital design, extensive experience with DO-254 processes, and the ability to lead and support hardware development and verification plans. ResponsibilitiesSupport technical/commercial proposals and assist with preparation of estimates, schedules, compliance matrixes, and costing for new bids.Analyze customer needs/requirements to create hardware development plans and hardware verification plans.Analyze and specify hardware development environment (HDE), verification environment, debugging, and profiling tools.Develop, deploy, and support DO-254 processes, reviews (SOI), development plans, and review checklists.Analyze user’s requirements and create a detailed hardware architecture and formal structured design.Perform electronics hardware design, hardware test cases, acceptance tests, and support system-level testing for design verification and validation.Design electronic circuits, components, systems, and equipment from detailed designs to meet EMC/EMI requirements and performance.Perform circuit analysis and ensure traceability from user’s requirements to formal design and implementation.Support and inspect the installation, modification, testing, and operation of electronic components, systems, and equipment.Debug and troubleshoot hardware circuits.Determine Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) at Board and Component levels.Integrate hardware into embedded system environments, including test benches and on aircraft at customer sites.Collaborate with product development teams, including product/systems and software engineers, in a leadership role.Produce and manage work packages and submit status reports to the Hardware Engineering Manager.Participate in and support program risk assessment and mitigation.Supervise the work of junior designers and other engineering employees.Provide presentations to customers on hardware design and operation.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsAnalog and digital designProficiency with ORCAD, MATLAB, VHDL, PSPICEExperience with EMC/EMI testingFMEA analysisBachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of training and experienceStrong experience in electronic product design and reliability analysis, including digital and analog building blocksExperience with DO-254 standardsTechnical and hardware qualifications (DO-160 and DO-254)Experience in control systems (Engine Control, Landing and Steering Controls), avionics, aerospace, or other high-reliability productsLeadership and management experienceProven experience working with standards, processes, and work procedures in a structured design environmentFamiliarity with RTCA, Inc. certification standardsAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with PCB design from scratchPower supply design and PI controller designExperience with power electronicsDesign of converters such as motors, drivers, solar systemsFamiliarity with microcontrollers for analog applicationsInterface with FPGA engineersWork Environment
This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days on-site per week. Candidates will need to be onsite for training and the first few weeks. The work environment involves collaborating with a team of skilled engineers and utilizing state-of-the-art technologies and equipment.
