Senior Hardware Development Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Hardware Development Engineer will be part of a team responsible for supporting the design and development of hardware products and ensuring product specifications are maintained throughout the product lifecycle. In addition, this role will analyze, qualify, document and test design changes on released products. The Senior Hardware Development Engineer will work with a global group of engineers to develop system design, review and evaluate designs for compliance to development guidelines and standards, and provide tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risks.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Digital circuit design Prepare and present design proposals, and participate in design reviews Work with layout guides to build prototypes Perform electrical and functional tests on prototypes Supervise and understand design change implications to hardware certifications Collaborate with worldwide teams in the areas of supply chain, manufacturing engineering, component vendors and suppliers, and quality engineers to maintain and improve quality of products Identify and evaluate alternative components for cost reduction, end-of-life substitution, product quality improvement, and/or increased manufacturability Review and verify design and life cycle component changes for impact on function, performance and regulatory requirements Develops qualification test plans and conducts component level testing and maintains test records of all qualification results (Pass/Fail)

For This Role, You Will Need:

Bachelor of Science Electrical / Electronics Engineering Minimum 7 years of related work experience in Hardware or Component Engineering, including: Analog and digital circuit design Embedded microprocessor & FPGA design Understanding of signal integrity for high-speed design On-board power supply design (voltage conversion) PCB design and layout techniques; component placement and signal routing Validated strong communication skills with ability to relay technical information in English (verbal, written, and interpersonal) to exchange information on product architectures and design proposals with a diverse, distributed team Analytical ability to resolve and develop solutions to moderately sophisticated problems

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Experience in microprocessors, SoC, FPGA, CPLD, Ethernet, RS-485 or other comm protocols. etc. Experience in industrial automation products Understanding of electrical safety standards PCB CAD experience with OrCAD, Altium, or other tools Experience working with a distributed team
