Purpose of Job:
APCON’s Senior Hardware Engineer will design and develop complex high speed interconnected ecosystems that are flexible and scalable. In this role you’ll participate in the design and development of large scale super high-speed, cutting-edge packet processers and packet switches. In addition, this individual will help by providing hands-on technical support to the engineering department. APCON’s Senior Hardware Engineers own a project from its inception all the way through the final build on manufacturing floor. As the owner, you will have the opportunity to work closely with various teams throughout the project development. As well as design all elements which includes architecture, block diagram decisions, schematic capture and board bring up.
Responsibilities: Responsible for Hands-On technical functions in support of the engineering departmentDesigns and develops 100G - 400G network switch solutions from concept through productionParticipates in technical reviews of product requirementsDesign schematicOversees PCB layoutPerforms board bring up and design verificationWorks closely with software engineers to optimize design and debug products
Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in training and experience10+ years’ hardware development experience in a communications-related product designExperience in Ethernet, networking and switchingExperience using schematic/layout tools, (Cadence OrCAD)Knowledge in PCB technology, stack up development and highspeed layout considerations
