We are seeking a talented individual to join our Health & Benefits team at Mercer. This role can be based in Toronto, Ottawa, or Montreal, and it is a hybrid role with a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
As a Senior Health & Benefits Consultant II, you will lead strategic consulting engagements with small to medium sized employers regarding their group insurance benefits plans. In the Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa area and nationally. You will be interacting with clients and developing relationships, be involved in developing strategies to meet clients' needs, and take on the role of a trusted advisor. As the Canadian benefits landscape continues to evolve, the Senior Health Consultant will champion Mercer’s innovative services and solutions specific to the small and mid-market to address the health and wellness needs of our clients and their employees. Collaborating across various business lines, you will engage with other leaders within the organization to provide One Mercer to our clients and prospects. Additionally, the consultant will oversee projects and guide teams in the research, analysis, and evaluation of medical, dental, life, and disability benefits plans and programs, including our Simple select by Mercer Marsh BenefitsSM All-in-One commercial solution.

Act as a trusted advisor for your block of businessChampion Mercer Health’s innovative services and solutionsEnsure the quality of deliverables and respect of timelinesDevelop budgets and prepare invoicesAct as the client’s primary contact for the work and preparation/delivery of resultsAct as an intermediary between clients and insurersProvide expert advice and strategic support for project managementWork with Mercer subject matter experts to help clients with complex situations that require additional research or discussionManage different projects (renewal, request for proposals, redesign, program implementation, financial projections, etc.) from start to finishOversee the team’s work to ensure quality of work and meeting deadlinesLead Planning meetings and ensure your clients are continuously informed of industry trends and legislation changesParticipate in delivering impactful solutions for organizations of any size and varied industries and have a direct impact on their employees, leveraging our dedicated solutions for this market segment and pre-negotiation carrier arrangementsCreate new business/revenue generating opportunitiesBe accountable for revenue/profitability for client accounts and projectsSet roles and responsibilities within the client teamDelegate effectively to provide development opportunities to team members and leverage client work to the most appropriate career levelWhat you need to have:
8+ years of Health & Benefits consulting or related experienceRequired to obtain and maintain appropriate licenses as required by provincial regulations and Mercer policiesStrong, innovative sales and marketing skillsKnowledge of MS Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint)Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skillsAbility to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environmentAbility to partner and lead teams to deliver project objectives; ability to work independently and on a teamStrong sense of collaboration and team spiritWhat makes you stand out?
