Job Description Summary

#TeamAAM is looking for a Senior Heat Treat Engineer to join our team in Detroit, Michigan! This individual will support AAM by providing global support, direction, monitoring and project management for all heat treating processes, main and ancillary equipment and tooling.

Job Description

Assists corporate engineers in planning, design and write specifications for the purchase of heat treat furnaces and tooling or retrofitting of equipment.

Manages capital projects to implement the inspection, installation, documentation and PPAP of heat treat equipment.

Works closely with the maintenance organization to develop and/or maintain a detailed preventative maintenance program.

Assist in communizing process and practices at all AAM sites.

Work on new fixturing designs or coil designs and test for performance improvements.

Required Skills and Education

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, ME-Tech, or Metallurgy preferred).

Willingness and ability to travel 25%-50% U.S. and internationally.

3+ years of experience with heat treating processes and equipment.

Proven experience working with Gas Carburizing, LPC Vac Carburizing and Induction process.

Proven experience troubleshooting and supporting all heat treat processing throughout an organization.

Automotive industry experience preferred.
