Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Highway Engineer, we'll count on you to:

Serve in the lead technical role in the detailed development of urban roadway design projectsPerform quality assurance checks on major transportation projects on interstate and state highway systemsServe as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexityAssume some project management duties and interact with clients as neededAssume some project management duties as needed and have a fair amount of client interactionSupervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as neededPerform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering programCalifornia Professional Engineer (PE) LicenseMinimum of 10 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering designDemonstrated leadership skills, communication skills and ability to work with various teamsProject management skills desirableExperience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plansMust have coordinated survey, grading, drainage and utilities and layout of various site items is a plusAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree preferredExperience with MicroStation, InRoads, Microsoft Office applicationsPrevious work experience with Cal Trans/Local Cities projects (studies and design) is preferred.Preference will be given to local candidates.

The expected compensation range for this position is $115,000- $170,000 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.
