Ideally placed at the heart of the revitalized, energy-charged urban center of the United States’ second-largest city, the hotel provides first-class hospitality that seamlessly intertwines with the fabric of the burgeoning Downtown area. **Your Day to Day** + Direct daily activities, plan and assign work, ensuring you always have the right staffing numbers + Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback, and create performance and development goals for colleagues - recognize good performance + Educate and train all team members in cleanliness standards according to company and brand standards. Educate and train all team members in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and safety regulations. + Ensure staff are properly trained and have the tools and equipment to carry out job duties + Conduct safety observations of team members to ensure safe work practices are being utilized at all times; provide feedback and recommended corrections when needed + May assist with deep cleaning projects and/or assist housekeeping staff during high volume periods + Ensure the quality of housekeeping and laundry services are always superb - we have standards, but it's up to you to make rooms special and memorable for guests + Schedule routine inspections of all guest rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, rooms, equipment,, linens, public restrooms, lobby, etc. are clean and in good repair to fulfill guest expectations + Carry out special requests for guests, VIP's, repeat guests, and Club Members + Help guests with questions and complaints to achieve complete guest satisfaction + Maintain and order supplies and equipment while minimizing waste and maintaining “green” initiatives (example: container recycling and cleaning agents) + Ensure lost and found procedures are followed properly + Perform other duties as assigned. May also serve as Manager on Duty. + Maintain proper inventory levels managing cost per room for supplies and labor **What We Need from You** + Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills + Bachelor's Degree/higher education qualification or equivalent in hospitality or related field is preferred + 3+ years of experience in hotel housekeeping + Experience in a union environment is preferred + Direct supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience + Must speak/write/read in English; additional languages are preferred _The statements in this job description are intended to describe the essential nature and level of the work being performed. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Los Angeles, California. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.
