Royal Caribbean Group’s HR Shipboard Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior HR Business Partner for Private Destinations reporting to the Director, HR Private Destinations.

 

This role will work onsite in Miami, Florida.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior HR Business Partner should be a strategic HR professional that partners with executives and senior management to implement the HR strategy supporting the formation, delivery and operation of our private destinations around the globe i.e.: Perfect Day, Royal Beach Club, etc.  Must develop and sustain day-to-day operational consultative relationships with business leaders in Miami, as well as leaders and HR teams in each destination.  This role is responsible for the integration and implementation of human resource programs, systems and associated projects in each destination to achieve strategic business goals and operational objectives.  Must be proficient in all aspects of HR administration, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, talent management, organizational development, learning and development, employment law, compensation, benefits, international HR management, and HR systems. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supports the development and implementation of a Private Destination operating model for each unique location, taking into consideration the specific regulations/needs, ultimately creating a tailored opening/ operating strategy and employee value proposition, which positively supports the business to reach its goals.   Champions and drives change throughout the organization to support private destinations, drives growth and ensures each new destination opens flawlessly.  Part of the project planning process for each destination. Works in collaboration with key stakeholders including the corporate HR team to ensure all critical project dates and deadlines are met, while proactively identifying areas of potential risk. Partner with Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits COEs to ensure regionally specific recruiting, retention and total rewards strategies and related processes are in place to offer a best-in-class employee value proposition. Provide expert generalist, best practice HR advice and support to on-island HR teams and business leadership as required. Ensure employee relations issues are responded to and investigated in a timely manner and the appropriate measures are taken to mitigate risk factors and guarantee compliance is achieved. Works closely with Internal Global Security, Legal (internal and external) on investigations of ethics, discrimination, harassment, or other workplace issues. Evaluates and interprets existing policies and procedures and makes recommendations for changes and implementation throughout the organization based on industry best practices. Understand all current and future recruitment targets and goals, including resource planning in accordance with budgeted headcount requirements. Partner with L&D COE to evaluate existing learning and development priorities with company strategy, brand strategy, and local needs to make recommendations to elevate the learning experience leveraging technology and best-in-class instructional design methodology. In collaboration with L&D COE, learning advisor and partner to private destination leaders to guide their focus, engagement and solutioning in support of the development of their people. Explores trends and opportunities to rethink and/or introduce new, world-class talent management programs or processes that enable leaders to effectively manage their talent to achieve business results. In collaboration with the Talent Management team, ensures the expedient development, introduction and sustainability of enterprise-wide programs, processes, systems, tools and templates that enhances organizational effectiveness, workforce planning and pipeline/succession management, performance management, career management, learning and development, onboarding, employee engagement among others. Facilitate and support cyclical HR initiatives such as performance management, compensation planning, employee engagement survey and action planning, as well as other annual initiatives.  Partner with leaders to create a high level of engagement and satisfaction across the team taking action against employee feedback and survey data. Ensures all Corporate HR programs are fully implemented across business units and geographies, incorporating local customization as dictated by relevant legal requirements. Work effectively with the Business Unit leaders, providing sound guidance, balanced observations, suggestions, coaching and feedback of the organization and staff to achieve business goals. FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides guidance and input into the management of the overall private destinations people budget. Work with the total rewards team and Private Destinations Finance to prepare budget forecasts as needed.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

8+ years of progressive experience in HR generalist, Senior HR business partner or talent management positions of increasing responsibility. Bachelor’s degree in business with a specialty in Human Resources Management. Master’s degree preferred.  International HR management experience required including knowledge of international employment, and immigration laws preferred. Work experience as a talent development professional specializing in leading instructional design, development and multimedia development for learning efforts across a global landscape. Knowledge of talent management processes: recruiting and selection, onboarding, pipeline management, succession management, performance management, career management, learning and development etc. HR/SPHR Certification preferred.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Candidate must have experience in human resources management or consulting in a dynamic, highly complex global environment. Previous Human Resources Management experience ideally onboard a Royal Caribbean International or Celebrity Cruises vessel a plus. Operates effectively, even when things are not certain, or the way forward is not clear. Seeks to resolve ambiguity and make progress, responding with appropriate composure and effectiveness.  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple projects effectively and performing comfortably in a high velocity, deadline-oriented work environment. Must be agile, able to innovative and have a growth mindset. Must be able to show a successful track record of strategic work with business partners at all levels. Strong analytical and written communication skills for policy creation, implementation and analysis. Travel required.
