Senior HR Compliance Specialist

The Senior HR Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting the HR Operations Excellence team with all compliance related processes such as background check reporting (First Advantage), processing administrative requirements, and overseeing I-9 and E-Verify compliance. This job requires the individual to be a critical thinker, have an in-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws with an emphasis on I-9 and E-Verify, background check compliance and regulations, and enjoy working in a collaborative, high-energy team environment.
Support all aspects of the background check adjudication process of candidates, in compliance with applicable laws and company procedures.
Screen, review, and evaluate completed reports that contain convictions, and properly notify applicants of sensitive information.
Identify and analyze derogatory and mitigating information for suitability to hire.
Provide timely follow-ups and follow-throughs on all appeals stemming from pre-adverse or adverse results.
File appropriate reports with government agencies (e.g. EEO-1)
Ensure employment law posters and notices are distributed and displayed at all US facilities, maintain vendor relationship, including processing invoices.
Collaborate with and train the HR team on I-9 and E-Verify compliance along with investigating and resolving issues.
Identify and research upcoming changes in legislation, such as new state and local paid leave, background checks, drug testing and pay transparency regulations.
Support the implementation of HR programs and initiatives.
Assist with onboarding compliance matters.
Assist with HR reporting and data analysis to provide data to appropriate parties as requested.
Review compliance processes and provides process improvements.
