In this role you will establish, build, and maintain strong relationships with functional employees, supervisors, managers, and leadership to enhance workforce performance by supporting employee development, planning strategic HR initiatives, and serving as a consultant on all general HR issues while developing and implementing HR strategies to meet organizational needs. This position works out of our **Scarborough, ME locations.** **What You’ll Work On** + The Sr. HR Generalist will work closely with the division BHR Director, Local BHR Partners, Corporate HR functions, and functional leadership to provide a wide range of essential HR support for the Infectious Disease function. + Partners with the division BHR Director and local BHR Partners; acts as a strategic business partner for the assigned functions. + Establish, build, and maintain strong relationships with site employees, supervisors, managers, and site leadership to enhance workforce performance by supporting employee development, planning HR initiatives, delivering corporate programs, and serving as a consultant on all general HR issues. + The Sr. HR Generalist will own HR Metrics and Analytics for the areas of responsibility, which includes data gathering, data analysis, and dashboards/reporting. The ability to draw insights from data, and design HR strategies based on those insights is critical in this role. + With minimal supervision of HR management, support the businesses HR needs in partnership with the division BHR Director, Local BHR Partners and corporate HR practice centers. This includes supporting the employee life cycle processes: attraction, recruiting, onboarding, learning/development,engagement/retention, performance management, employee problem-solving, offboarding. + Responsible for function/site-level talent review processes (strategy, discussion, action planning). + Identify training and development priorities for the employees and the site(s). + Be an ambassador for the corporate HR programs; ensure all communications and site activities are coordinated with the corporate HR project teams. + Manage and improve the new employee orientation/onboarding processes at the sites to improve the employee experience. + Partners with managers to maintain job descriptions, career paths/hierarchies, and employee data management. + Partners with employee relations and managers to ensure a positive and safe work environment. + Partners with other divisional site HR to coordinate the roll out of programs, share best practices, and ensure consistent delivery of HR processes. + Educates the site employees and managers on Abbott’s HR model and encourages use of HR Service Center for most HR questions and transactions. + May own other divisional BHR team initiatives, processes, or programs as assigned. + Will lead or participate in corporate HR, BHR, or divisional HR projects. **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree. + Minimum 5 years of similar HR generalist experience or demonstrated similar skills in other HR related fields (HR project management, performance management, compensation, training/learning, employee relations, recruiting). **Preferred Qualifications** + PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP, and similar certifications a plus but not required. + Advanced proficiency in Excel, Workday, HR data analytics, Power BI dashboards, and metrics presentations strongly preferred. + Solid understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws. + Strategic thinker that can manage the tactical day-to-day HR activities, but still implement proactive HR strategies to ensure a productive, engaged, and positive workforce. + The ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. + Proven project management skills with an attention to detail and strong time management. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Highly organized self-motivated with the ability to prioritize effectively. + Successful and professional ability to influence and educate employees at all organizational levels.
