Senior HR Specialist

The opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior HR Specialist, HRBP, to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources, with a particular emphasis on data analytics and an understanding of sales commission plans. This role will be instrumental in driving HR initiatives, optimizing HR processes, and supporting our employees’ growth and development.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:

•    HR Operations: Oversee day-to-day HR operations, including employee relations, performance management, and compliance with labor laws and regulations.

•    Data Analytics: Utilize data analytics to drive HR decision-making, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to improve HR processes and employee engagement.

•    Commission Plans: Ability to understand commission plans to ensure they are competitive, fair, and aligned with company goals.

•    Recruitment and Onboarding: Lead recruitment efforts, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding new employees to ensure a smooth transition into the company.

•    Employee Development: Develop and implement training programs to support employee growth and career development.

•    Policy Development: Create and update HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and support the company’s strategic objectives.

•    Employee Engagement: Foster a positive work environment through employee engagement initiatives and programs.

•    HR Metrics: Track and report on key HR metrics to measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives and programs.


What you need to succeed:

•    Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 

•    Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR, with at least 2 years in a senior or generalist role.

•    Strong analytical skills with experience in HR data analytics.

•    Proven experience in commission plans.

•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

•    Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations.

•    Proficiency in HR software and tools.

•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

•    Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
