Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 20% of the world’s manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

 

This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract position on a 4:3 or, 8:6 4:3 4:3 roster, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns.

 

As the Senior HR Business Partner, you will provide strategic support to business leaders in making good people decisions across the employee lifecycle. This includes building strong teams and driving the South32 culture.

 

 

 

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

 

Help leaders with the interpretation of internal policies, procedures, and Enterprise Agreement. Review trends and metrics to develop solutions to local issues in partnership with the operation. Drive workforce planning and talent management processes within your area of responsibility. Recommend and lead new initiatives that align with the organisation’s people strategy.

 

 

ABOUT YOU 

 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

 

Experience working with Enterprise Agreements and applying Australian legislation across HR work practices. Proven ability and background working on a range of employment/industrial issues. Well-developed HR generalist skills in an Award based environment. Ability to constructively challenge decisions which are not in the best interest of the organisation. HRIS systems – experience with SAP HR SuccessFactors (highly desirable) Experience working in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.

 

Qualifications for this position are: 

 

Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related discipline.
