The ideal candidate for this Senior HR Manager role will be a strategic thinker with a strong background in HR practices and leadership skills. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of human resource practices and processes, as well as oversee the ER function to ensure day to day operations are running at the most effective levels. This role is responsible for overseeing activities such as employee relations, performance management, training & development, leave of absence, compliance and talent management. The HR Leader will ensure the site's HR needs are met efficiently, legally, and in alignment with the overall business strategy.
Business partner responsibilities relating to employee relations by addressing concerns and issues raised by employees-exempt and hourly.
Develop intermediate/short range departmental goals and objectives in partnership with Management
Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization. HR metrics will be expected and review frequently.
Develop initiatives to foster a positive work environment, improve employee morale, and promote employee engagement and satisfaction.
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals, and consultation with line managers.
Oversee the lifecycle of all leave of absences. Worker’s compensation will fall under this umbrella.
Partner with Environmental Health and Safety to ensure OSHA Compliance
May occasionally perform special projects; Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Proven experience in developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives that align with business goals.
In-depth knowledge of CA labor law, Wage and Hour and HR best practices.
Proficiency in HRIS and other HR-related software applications. Workday and ADP.
Proficiency with MS Office applications
Ability to handle multiple priorities and manage time effectively.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Bi-lingual is a high preference
Bachelor's Degree is required.
10+ years of direct experience, 5+ years in manufacturing, 8+ years leading an HR department
