Your future team – Product Platforms Imaging
We are a Product Platform Imaging team that is responsible for the imaging and video algorithms as well as frameworks used in all Axis products based on externally developed chipsets. The work takes place in close collaboration with our partners, Axis product development teams as well as other core technology teams.
Your role as Senior Imaging Engineer
You will work in key areas related to image and video processing with focus on algorithms, image sensors and quality enhancement features. Majority of your time will be spent on design and development of algorithms and frameworks needed to take imaging quality to the next level and make the development process more efficient.
You will be driving high-level strategical direction for the area both in terms of technical roadmap and competence need. This includes monitoring development and new technologies within the imaging area in general, competition offerings as well as having tight collaboration and dialog with other teams in Axis working with relevant technical areas.
You will also be working long term by identifying and ordering development of new technologies, initiatives and projects needed to retain Axis’s leading position within image quality for surveillance in a very competitive worldwide market.
In this position, you will occasionally travel to Axis vendors in US and Asia to evaluate, set requirements, improve, and make sure that we get the best possible quality in Axis products.
Who are you?
You are an energetic and dedicated person with a personal drive and ability to work both unsupervised and as a part of a team. You have a genuine interest in image processing algorithms, image quality evaluation, troubleshooting and software development.
You enjoy sharing your vision and progress with others and by doing so you align with your co-workers towards a common goal. The ability to break down complex issues, organize and structure the work is another important skill needed to be successful in this role.
You have M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, electrical engineering or similar.
Experience in the following domains is valuable:
Expertise and experience of developing image and video algorithms: auto-exposure, auto-white balance, auto-focus, video stabilization, noise reduction algorithms, HDR algorithms, color mapping/tuning methodologiesExperience with key building blocks: imaging algorithms, programming of image pipelines, image sensors, optics (solid knowledge from SW to HW)Strong understanding of Image Science & Image Quality conceptsStrong programming skills, e.g. on Linux, C/C++, MATLABExperience from working with technology and platform vendorsThe position is office-based, and you will be working at Axis headquarters in Lund, Sweden.
