Senior Implementation Specialist

This role will be accountable for the successful and accurate implementations of complex Mid-market Group Benefits Clients. The Senior Implementation Specialist will provide expert navigation for Plan Sponsors and Advisors and is a key member of the Plan Sponsor Experience organization within Group Benefits. The incumbent will support both internal and external customers when launching new clients on Manulife’s suite of systems.

This will be achieved by having comprehensive knowledge in the areas of systems, pricing, underwriting, administration, and customer service. The individual serves as the subject matter expert in all relevant areas, for ensuring effective implementation of newly sold group benefit policies. The profile of a complex Mid-Market GB client is one that will issue on both coverage and non-coverage platforms and includes all funding arrangements.

*This is a fully Remote position, and we are open to candidates across any province in Canada.

Position Responsibilities:

Dedicated contact during the implementation, providing clear verbal and written communications that provides value to both the Regional Group Office (RGO) sales staff, Plan Sponsors and Market SourcesEnsure sold plan designs can be administered within the technology, processes, procedures and product offerings utilized within all areas of Group businessEvaluate and determine appropriate non-standard risk assessments for diverse and complex new businessProvide analysis and technical support regarding product, pricing and alternate funding arrangementsEngage Group Benefit business internal partners as needed to resolve client requests and issues, escalating to management as necessarySupport the RGO in maintaining Plan Sponsor (Plan Sponsor Services and Regional Group Offices) and Market Source relationships by responding to risk, benefit, eligibility and administrative inquiriesConduct constructive negotiations utilizing underwriting judgment and guidelinesActively participating in Group Benefit and Underwriting process and product improvement initiativesAssist with ongoing development of peers

Required Qualifications:

In-depth knowledge of Group Benefits contract provisions, administrative practices and claims paying systemsMinimum of 5 years working in Group BenefitsSolid knowledge of funding arrangements, risk analysis and financial reportingStrong mathematical aptitudeStrong verbal, written communication and presentation skillsDemonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilitiesIndependent, self-motivated individual with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneouslyAbility to effectively engage, negotiate and communicate with internal partners (Plan Sponsor Services and Regional Group Offices) and Market Sources / SponsorsStrong attention to detailAbility to handle fluctuating workloads and multiple priorities within set time constraintsExcellent knowledge of Window's based software (Word, Excel)Attention to detail / Accuracy is paramount to successDemonstrates ability to interact effectively with various levels of internal and external customersCan work comfortably within tight turnaround times and fluid deadlinesAble to provide creative and thorough solutions that meets our clients’ needs while maintaining business credibilityStrong collaborator and understands the needs of business partners as well as Manulife’s

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in underwriting, including reviewing rates and developing application and financial agreementsExcellent & extensive knowledge of Manulife Systems

Salary range is expected to be between

$68,775.00 CAD - $114,625.00 CAD
