Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Management: Manage and lead cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and monitor projects aimed at optimizing the distribution center's operations, including process redesign, layout changes, and system implementations.
Capital Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for capital projects related to process improvements and automation. Ensure projects are executed within budget constraints and demonstrate a clear return on investment.
Lean Process Improvement: Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives by applying lean methodologies to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of industrial engineers and interns, providing guidance and support in the development and execution of projects.
Engineered Labor Standards: Oversee the development and maintenance of engineered labor standards for various tasks within the distribution center to optimize workforce productivity and performance.
Labor Management Systems: Implement and oversee labor management systems to track and improve labor performance, labor scheduling, and labor cost control.
Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics to identify areas for improvement, track performance metrics, and provide actionable insights for operational enhancements.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Proven experience in lean process improvement and project management within a distribution center environment.
Strong financial acumen with experience in managing capital budgets.
Leadership experience, including managing a team of engineers.
In-depth knowledge of engineered labor standards and labor management systems.
Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in project management software and data analytics tools.
Experience in retail distribution is a plus.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, and IT, to ensure alignment and effective implementation of improvement initiatives.
Compliance: Ensure that all engineering solutions and projects adhere to safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
