The Opportunity

This position is based in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats. 

As the Senior Industrial Engineer is a leader of the implementation of Operational Excellence (OPEX) at the plant level including project leadership, teaching and coaching associates as well as management. A Change agent responsible for leading the plant into a data drive, team-oriented culture that embraces continuous improvement within a lean six sigma environment and ensures full OPEX implementation in all plant functions.

What You’ll Do  

Lead and implement continuous improvement programs that reduce cost and improve quality service and inventory. Lead and execute the Operational Excellence strategy for the site with clear business objectives.

Provide Operational Excellence / Continuous Improvement education / trainings for the site.

Lead projects, identify opportunities, define and financially justify projects, launch project teams, use good project management tools to manage team activities, lead (guide/influence) teams to execute projects with the problem-solving methodology, track project and program status and results, remove and elevate project barriers, and develop team members.

Execute the required activities to have the operations standard times updated. Execute the capacity planning (labor, equipment, services) for the site for each financial cycle and when necessary to continue looking opportunities for productivity improvement. Owner of the product routing (labor and scrap) used for standard costing and operations layouts.

Ensure that improvements to processes and operations are made following the policies and procedures of the plant, division, corporate and regulatory agencies.

Required Qualifications 

Bachelor's Degree. Engineering Field in Industrial.

Minimum 5 years of experience: Should have solid project management skills, experienced and team leadership skills. Should have knowledge of other functions that provide inputs regularly, i.e., Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations, Research and Development.

Must have the ability to do statistical analysis. Must have knowledge in Quality regulations and standards that affect the medical devices industry.

Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish. Speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Digital skills: Microsoft office.

AutoCAD is required.

The base pay for this position is $66,000.00 – $132,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
