**Your Opportunity**
Stantec is seeking an experienced Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) to provide senior level health and safety consulting services for a variety of clients (including construction, transportation and utility client) within our team. This position will be based out of one of our major office locations in either Arizona, California, Texas, Minnesota, or New York and will support and coordinate the health and safety projects for our clients nation-wide.
This role will report directly to the U.S. Team Lead of Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health and Safety Consulting Services.
**Your Key Responsibilities**
+ Provide occupational health and safety (OH&S) consulting services for a variety of projects and clients.
+ Conduct OH&S compliance auditing.
+ Managing industrial hygiene and other hazardous materials projects from the proposal stage, including process/facility/client research, client meetings, preparation of budget, scope and specifications to the project execution and completion stage, including staff and resource allocation, development of work plans and health and safety plans, coordination with client and field technicians, coordination of sample submission, equipment allocation, reporting, report review and client follow-up.
+ Providing occupational health and safety management system consulting services including the preparation of documentation for various program elements including programs, safe work practices and procedures.
+ Completing technical review of proposals and reports prior to submission for senior management review prior to submitting to the client.
+ Completing field work as required, including industrial hygiene exposure assessments, indoor air quality assessments, monitoring and inspection services for mold remediations and asbestos abatements.
+ Providing training on various occupational health and safety topics including, but not limited to Asbestos Awareness, Noise and Hearing Conservation, Construction Safety, OH&S Responsibilities, and Respiratory Protection and Fit Testing, to various clients and Stantec employees.
+ Keeping abreast of current industry knowledge, guidelines, and applicable legislation, interpret Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) legislation and effectively communicate requirements and responsibilities to management.
+ Accurately interpreting, applying and explaining applicable codes, legal regulations, policies and procedures, making decisions within established guidelines.
+ Mentoring and leading the growth of team members.
+ Providing field coordination and technical oversight of projects.
+ Promote occupational, health, and safety within the company with a goal of continuous improvement of safety culture both internally and with our clients.
**Qualifications**
**Your Capabilities and Credentials**
+ An individual possessing a minimum of ten years occupational health and safety experience managing safety programs.
+ Be knowledgeable concerning Federal and State regulations applicable to OHS.
+ Experience must include the following:
+ Business development
+ Technical oversight
+ Project Management or Project Coordination
+ Must be able to work as a member of a team but also independently.
+ Effectively communicate verbally and written with existing company clients and internal Stantec staff.
+ Must be able to develop and present safety meetings and training.
+ Computer proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of software.
+ Satisfactory driving record and valid drivers’ license.
+ Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or working towards certification by the Board of Safety Professionals
+ Certified Industrial Hygiene (CIH) certification, Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification or working towards certification as a CIH or CSP a plus.
+ Certification/Qualification in the field of auditing an asset.
+ Certification/Qualification in the field of Environmental Management Systems an asset.
**Education and Experience**
+ Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in natural or environmental science, occupational health and safety or a related field.
+ Minimum of 10 years’ experience with progressively increasing responsibilities, preferably in a consulting environment and specifically in industrial hygiene, occupational health and safety and indoor environment.
Travel may be required up to 25% of the time, mainly across the continental US, with potential for overnight stays up to 2 weeks.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):
**Salary Range(s):**
* NYC $73 - NYC $110 Min/Max Pay Range(s) for postings located in NYC/NY
* Other CA Areas $64 - Other CA Areas $96 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC)
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
