Job Summary
The Senior Industrial Millwright - Day Shift supports the production by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, making repairs and optimizing systems for industrial machinery and mechanical equipment while following safety policies and procedures.

Diagnose complex production equipment failures and provide solutions to correctly diagnose all mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, fuel, lubrication, cooling, and exhaust problems with production equipment and expedite their repairs, minimizing interruption to production. Perform preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled, including cleaning, lubricating, and other routine maintenance work on machinery. Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions. Systematically investigate irregularities and recommend maintenance when required. Perform spot repairs on production and facility equipment with minimal to no supervision, ensuring issues are fully resolved. Install and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand tools, power tools, and lifting devices. Perform specialized Millwright tasks, including welding, cutting, rigging, machining, lifting, pipefitting, and plumbing tasks in accordance with provincial legislation. Partner with the Production Operations team to effectively escalate system issues, ensuring questions and needs are addressed in the pursuit of excellent customer service. Fabricate replacement parts and make repairs to existing parts using lathes, grinders, and other fabrication equipment. Research troubleshooting, installation, and equipment improvement procedures using equipment manuals, schematics, drawings, and technical documentation. Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation using a CMMS system. Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks, and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up, and repair of machinery. Assist other tradespersons, including plumbers, electricians, HVAC, and others, in troubleshooting and repairing specialized systems. Train and mentor Industrial Mechanics and Millwrights. Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and legislation, including Environmental Legislation, O. Reg 851 for Industrial Establishments, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.Minimum Requirements:
Valid Millwright Certification of Qualification (C of Q) 433A. 7+ years of experience in an Industrial Millwright or similar role with specific experience supporting a production operations team. This experience can include experience gained during a Millwright apprenticeship. Proficient in interpreting schematics, technical manuals, and drawings to understand, diagnose, and repair a variety of Machines and their subsystems. Sound problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve equipment issues efficiently, adhering to standardized procedures and safety protocols. Proven track record of safety, reliability, and punctuality, with the ability to meet physical job demands and create new standards for documentation and problem-solving. Basic computer skills with the ability to use maintenance planning software and willing to learn to execute preventative maintenance plans and work orders. Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools, testing equipment, and programmable controls to diagnose and repair machinery. Ability to use fabrication equipment such as lathes, grinders, and drill presses to create and repair parts. Good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate information efficiently and effectively to team members in a variety of production-focused departments.
