Under light supervision, performs basic to highly complex procedures (e.g., logical and physical access management, deployment and support of security tools, risk and vulnerability assessments, security auditing and monitoring, incident response, setup and maintenance of firewalls, etc.) necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. Interfaces with user community to understand their security needs and implements procedures to accommodate them. Ensures that user community understands and adheres to necessary procedures to maintain security. Develops Information Technology (IT) security standards and procedures based on user feedback and industry best practices. Educates users on systems security standards and procedures. Under light supervision, performs the evaluation of and provides support for the level of security required for systems, infrastructure, and other information technology assets. Recommends and develops security procedures for IT assets based on analysis. Enforces security policies and procedures by administering and monitoring security tools. Reviews security violation reports and investigates possible security exceptions, and updates. Maintains and documents security controls. Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff. Mentors more junior staff and develops them for future growth within the discipline and firm. Supervises the work of junior staff on project work. Provides management with tracking and status reports, analysis, and metrics on security actions, events, trends, and concerns. Performs other duties as required.
