Position Overview:
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Security Focus) will be responsible for supporting and enhancing the IT infrastructure, with a particular emphasis on security and compliance across virtualized and cloud environments. This role involves leading initiatives in virtualization and cloud (AWS) infrastructure, maintaining storage and backup solutions, and ensuring all systems meet compliance standards. The successful candidate must have strong expertise in implementing security best practices and supporting compliance needs such as SOX regulations.
Responsibilities:
Manage and secure enterprise virtualization environments including both VMware and AWS (capacity planning, performance monitoring, troubleshooting). Lead planning, design, and implementation of new virtualization, storage, and cloud technology solutions, with a focus on enhancing security features. Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, NIST), including the implementation and auditing of security protocols. Administer and manage Office 365 environment, including email migration projects while ensuring the environment meets security standards. Develop and maintain security policies for server infrastructure, including patch management, vulnerability assessments, and disaster recovery planning. Lead infrastructure security initiatives, deploying security measures and responding to incidents across both cloud and on-premises infrastructure. Coordinate with hardware and software vendors for timely resolution of issues while ensuring adherence to security best practices. Facilitate knowledge sharing by creating detailed documentation, including system architecture diagrams, compliance processes, and incident post-mortems. Mentor junior team members on security best practices and assist in developing skills related to compliance and systems management. Assist with ongoing operations including incident response, resolution, and maintaining SLAs for performance and security. Participate in the planning and maintenance of IT infrastructure, focusing on continuous improvements to both security and performance.

Job Requirements:
University degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems. A minimum of 7-8 years of strong technical IT systems experience with a focus on virtualization, cloud environments, and security best practices. Proficient knowledge of AWS and VMware ESX(i) Server 5.0 and above, as well as VMware vCenter. Strong experience with storage technologies, specifically SAN integration and replication (e.g., Dell EqualLogic, EMC VNX). Advanced experience with Office 365 administration and email migration projects. Strong understanding of SOX compliance and IT security frameworks. Knowledge in scripting languages such as PowerShell or VBScript for automation and system administration tasks. Exceptional knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and services (DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP) in support of infrastructure security. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams. Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, make sound decisions under pressure, and demonstrate a proactive approach to IT infrastructure security.
Desired Skills:
ITIL Certification VMware VCP Certification AWS Certified Solutions Architect Strong knowledge of non-Windows operating systems in virtualized environments. Knowledge of storage and networking solutions, including Cisco UCS and Cisco Nexus.

Salary Range: $122,861.07 - $163,814.76
Annual Bonus Potential: 10%
