At Zipline, our infrastructure powers life-saving autonomous deliveries worldwide. As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing, securing, and optimizing on-prem and cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
What You'll Do Design, implement, and maintain on-premises and cloud environments (AWS, Azure). Manage virtual machines, containers (Kubernetes), and storage solutions (SAN, NAS). Implement security best practices, proactive monitoring, and incident response to detect and resolve threats. Conduct root cause analysis and drive continuous improvements. Disaster Recovery & Compliance – Develop and test disaster recovery (DR) strategies, define recovery objectives (RTO, RPO), and ensure compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR. Partner with Engineering, Security, and IT teams, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with vendors to evaluate and implement new technologies. What You'll Bring 8+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years managing cloud and on-prem infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP). Expertise in Windows/Linux systems, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and networking (VPNs, firewalls, TCP/IP, routing, switching). Experience with automation and config management tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef) and monitoring/logging solutions (Nagios, Prometheus, Splunk, ELK). Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python). Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. What Else You Need to KnowThe starting cash range for this role is $150,000 - $185,000. Please note that this is a target, starting cash range for a candidate who meets the minimum qualifications for this role. The final cash pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, working location, and projected impact. The total compensation package for this role may also include: equity compensation; overtime pay; discretionary annual or performance bonuses; sales incentives; benefits such as medical, dental and vision insurance; paid time off; and more.
