Senior Inspector/Office Administrator
**The Opportunity:** The Senior Inspector/Office Administrator is under the supervision of the Contract Administrator/Assistant Contract Administrator. They provide guidance and training of junior staff, as well as, occasionally performing senior inspection duties as required; such as survey and/or quality assurance tasks required to accurately record and inspect all contractor activities. We offer attractive pay, flexible work options, a great corporate culture, comprehensive and employee-focused benefits including virtual healthcare and a wellness platform as well as great savings programs, and a clear vision for the future. \#WeAre **WSP** **What you can expect to do here:** + Under the direction of the PM/CA/ACA CA; Completion of site office filing (both digital in CMS & Sharepoint as well as any required hardcopy tickets, etc…), Correspondence and Deliverables as required, as per MTO Construction Administration Inspection Specifications Manual (CAIS); + Work in temporary field offices, inputting payment, calculating quantities, finalization of contract items, accurately & efficiently drafting INCs, meeting minutes, Status reports, CO’s/OPAs, MTO summaries and other general daily office tasks required for the ACA/CA’s review; + Assist the ACA/CA to prepare detailed estimates for the value of Change Orders and assess impacts to the contractor’s schedule. + Proactively review the contract documents and understand the contractor’s operations and schedule. + Review test results and calculate Penalty/Bonus for payment or ensure required remedial action is flagged to the ACA/CA; + Be a company representative and act professionally on behalf of the company; + If requested: Perform and/or inspect quality assurance (QA) acceptance on grading, concrete, asphalt, electrical and granular. Monitor various weigh scales for accuracy and compliance; + Identification, documentation and assessment for rating of deficiencies (deviations from Contractor’s Quality Control Process and or OPSS standards) in the contractor’s work; + Ensure approved construction materials are used and acquired from approved sources and a record is kept of such materials; + Liaison with contractor’s representatives, property owners and general public during construction to resolve problems in conjunction with the ACA/CA. + Ensure contractor adheres to all contract requirements; e.g. legal, environmental, construction standards, protection of wildlife, etc.; + Ensure contractor applies and follows the Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHIMIS, Environmental Act, Transportation of Dangerous Goods and Waste Management regulations in a manner consistent with the contract. + Travel and work on contracts throughout Ontario for lengthy periods at a time. **What you’ll bring to WSP:** + Must be certified by OACETT and possess the Road Construction Senior Inspector (rcsi) designation; + Have experience as an Office Administrator on highway construction projects or similar type of work pertaining to road construction (i.e. as a Senior preferred or minimum 3-5 projects completed or 3-5 years general construction experience) + Familiar with MTO contract documents, specifications, standards, manufacturer’s material specifications, C.S.A. standards and SP’s; + Familiarity with CMS (Kahua) preferred; + Proven ability to work unassisted & unsupervised but a team player, taking direction by supervisory staff (PM/CA/ACA); + Proven ability to identify and resolve routine office technical problems and conflicts on a day-to-day basis and report them to the Contract Administrator; + Hands on knowledge of relevant Computer software e.g. CAS, HDS/InRoads, MS Word, Excel, Project and Access an asset; + Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; especially with coworkers; + Ability to organize, prioritize and schedule many office duties and daily workload; + Attention to detail & ability to analyze and solve problems; + Valid Ontario driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. **WSP** is one of the world's leading professional services firms.
