The Senior Instructional Designer (Sr. ID) will be a Learning Design & Development team member within DaVita University’s Center of Excellence (CoE). The CoE is a key component of our evolving Wisdom department and learning strategy for the Village. The Sr. ID will work collaboratively with program owners and subject matter experts (SMEs), business leaders, key stakeholders, and other learning professionals to design and develop innovative learning solutions that leverage a combination of learning modalities to maximize the learner experience, learning effectiveness, and business impact. The Sr. ID leverages proven instructional design techniques to author in-person, virtual, and self-paced eLearning content. This position provides consultation on adult learning best practices and mentors junior designers in content design and development.

Our ideal hire will have a strong background in eLearning development tools (Articulate360 (Rise & Storyline), Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, etc.), learning project management, instructional design/learning experience design for synchronous and asynchronous learning, fulfillment with working in a fast-paced, agile environment, and demonstrated success working in teams.

The preferred location for this position is Denver, CO, though we are open to 100% remote.


Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To

Use eLearning authoring tools (such as Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise), Camtasia, and Adobe Captivate) to develop high-quality learning products, infographics, and custom visualizations with a fresh and modern look and feel.Partners with program owners & business leaders to select the best learning modalities for technical and professional learning solutions (primarily in the areas of leadership, culture, and professional skills) that drive capability development and business outcomes.Applies adult learning best practices and instructional design methodologies (ADDIE) to design and develop instructor-led/virtual instructor-led, eLearning, blended, job aids, and social learning.Research, curate, and/or adapt existing content assets to incorporate into learning programs and journeys within our Digital Campus.Maintain, evaluate, and iterate on existing learning solutions to ensure content and learner experience are current, relevant, and engaging.Research and share new data, methodologies, and technologies to improve and innovate learning solutions.Mentors and develops junior designers in instructor-led/virtual-instructor-led, blended, and advanced eLearning design.

Minimum Qualifications

4+ years of work experience in adult learning design & development.Advanced/expert level with e-learning authoring tools/software (e.g., Articulate360 Rise & Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia) (Required 4+ years)Experience applying human-centered design and design thinking to develop training (instructor-led, self-study, web-based, virtual)Strong attention to detail and proofreading
 Computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OutlookExcellent interpersonal skills and a passion for teamwork.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving demands.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.Proficiency in a Learning Management System (e.g., Cornerstone on Demand)Formal Instructional Design training and/or certificationsStrong project management skills

Salary/ Wage Range

$68,400.00 - $100,400.00 / year

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
