Senior Insurance Market Analyst
Senior Insurance Market Analyst **Company** HSB **Location** Hartford , United States Conducts and analyzes market research, empowering Treaty Division with actionable insights that enable decision making regarding P&C Clients, insurance product and service concepts that address current and future opportunities. Conducts research in the areas of market sizing, product analysis, competitive intelligence, economic analysis, and innovation support, as well as cross-team liaising in support of broader team initiatives. Interprets data to ultimately draw out the most actionable and relevant findings, to identify objective conclusions to share with the business. Participate in project scoping, data gathering, analysis, report design and socialization of research findings with other team members. Works to translate a wide range of new and existing internal and externally developed market research into engaging data, text and visual-based stories to foster an understanding of current and future trends and insights impacting the business landscape. Education and Experience: + Bachelors’ degree in business, marketing, economics or related field is required, Masters’ degree preferred + 5+ years’ experience in conducting qualitative/quantitative research + Experience working in or with the insurance industry preferred + Experience with both primary and secondary research approaches strongly preferred Knowledge and Skills: + Experience in collaborating and consulting internal teams, building and maintaining effective relationships + Skilled in planning analytical decision making, communication and project management + Data analysis and/or statistical experience required + Skilled in creating visually engaging, digestible reports + Intermediate storytelling skills to bring audiences closer to the dynamics of the external marketplace + Experience in statistical or data analysis software preferred + Industry and business trend analysis experience preferred + Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other MS office products required + Strong secondary research skills and ability to conduct market/company and competitor field intelligence. Also the ability to collect and coalesce field intelligence from our client facing teams + P&C insurance knowledge or growing knowledge of this space + Ability to understand and synthesize major trends in the P&C insurance market, for both standard and specialty lines. + Have awareness and expertise in key industry subscriptions (Conning, S&P financial, etc.) + Comfort with analyzing statutory and GAAP financials and reviewing quarterly earnings calls and releases + Inquisitive nature, ability to ask the right questions so as to ensure understand clients needs and expectations + Strong presentation skills and mid-level to advanced MS Office skills At The Hartford Steam Boiler, a subsidiary of Munich Re, we see Diversity and Inclusion as a solution to the challenges and opportunities all around us.
