Senior Insurance Verification Associate

To do this this position is responsible for contacting insurance companies and physician offices to secure authorizations for upcoming hospital services. The Senior Insurance Verification Representative will use analytical skills to make decisions and explain the approval status and needed documentation for authorizations to physician offices and schedulers. Associates in this role are empowered to identify additional resources and refer patients who might have difficulty meeting their financial responsibilities. Success in this role is measured with the use of weekly productivity and quality scorecards. Every day in this role you will: + Initiates contact with insurance companies and physician offices via telephone, fax, websites, or other electronic means using appropriate scripting to ensure the required level of benefit and pre-certification/authorization details such as demographics, insurance/ coverage and clinical information are obtained. + Complete appropriate electronic forms with detailed benefit and pre-certification/ authorization information to ensure a clean claim.Identifies inaccurate health plan information and makes corrections in the hospital’s EHR. + Submits authorization request to insurance companies via fax, websites, or other means for upcoming hospital services. + Adheres to the guidelines set forth in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), designed to prevent or detect unauthorized disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI) To succeed in this role you must have: + High School diploma or equivalent. + At least two (2) years of similar experience (patient-facing, patient access). + At least one (1) year of experience with insurance verification or authorization work. + Excellent customer service skills exhibiting good oral and written communication skills. + Ability to type fast and accurately. + Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally to our patients and physician offices. For this US-based position, the base pay range is $17.58 - $27.14 per hour . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
