JOB DESCRIPTION:      Senior Environmental Designer Hospitality

Summary

We are looking for a highly creative person to join an innovative design team that crafts differentiated hospitality spaces in a competitive focused market. This role is with our Columbus, Ohio studio and is hybrid, requiring a combination of in-office and remote working. Occasional travel may be required from time to time based on client needs.

Responsibilities

Synthesizes information from design briefs and strategic directionHelps to create concepts based on strategic insight while integrating local relevance via architectural and interior designWorks with team members in developing space plans and furniture layouts to maximize seating while creating varietyHelps select material palettes and upholstery selectionsPartners with the architecture team to review shop drawings and coordinate detailsProven material and furniture specifications experienceParticipates in the development of initial concepts and executes through final design deliverable, including shop drawing reviewPresents to team and client

Required Qualifications and Qualities

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or ArchitectureMinimum of 5-7 years of commercial interior design projectsStrong portfolio with experience in restaurant design and hospitalityAdvanced knowledge in FF&E specifications, manufacturers, and trends specific to the restaurant and hospitality industryAdvanced knowledge of material specifications and lighting manufacturersStrong experience and knowledge in experiential space planning, furniture layouts and lighting conceptsExperience managing and coordinating external partnerships with vendors and furniture manufacturersExperience with upholstery selection and detailing, drapery and millwork designAdvanced knowledge of a range of design principles and aestheticsAdvanced sketching and rendering skillsSketchUp and AutoCAD skills requiredRevit knowledge strongly preferredWill be working with a highly collaborative team, must work well with othersStrong written and verbal communications skillsStrong listening skillsAbility to excel under pressureMust have a critical eye for detailsStrong follow up and follow through
