Senior Internal Auditor
**Description** + Works collaboratively with Manager and Director of Risk Management to define initial engagement scope and objectives; designs initial audit work programs, testing strategies, and detailed testing procedures; and documents audit work in workpaper files, taking the initiative to continually improve execution and make other recommendations for improvement. + Executes audit activities and constructs draft deliverables in a way that contemplates executive interest and reactions to observations; seeks coaching and information to develop an understanding of audit committee viewpoints and expectations. + Remains attuned to risk at all times in order to identify new and emerging risks as a result of audit work. + Proactively manages individual work assignments to meet schedule requirements while keeping the manager informed regarding the status of audits in progress and target audit completion dates. + Communicates, or assists in communicating, the results of audit and consulting procedures/engagements via written reports and oral presentations to management, executive leadership, and other business owners. + Provides internal control support and training to management and staff relevant to their departments and reinforces individuals’ understanding of their own accountability for individual risks and controls. + Pursues professional development opportunities, including external and internal training and professional association memberships, and sharing information gained with coworkers to improve the internal audit and the risk management functions and processes. + The ability to handle stress and work well with others are essential functions of this position + Performs any other related duties as required or assigned. + Due to our obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to our customers, the ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and the ability to work outside your regularly scheduled office hours when necessary is an essential function of the job. **Minimum Qualifications** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, plus at least 5 years’ related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. **PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS** CPA or CIA **ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS** The following work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential functions of this job.
