Compensation includes a base salary of $77,800.00 - $116,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

Cox Automotive Inc. is seeking a Senior Internal Controls Consultant to assess and monitor risks of the enterprise’s operations and financial statements for validity and accuracy. This individual will be responsible for gathering assurance and evidence that identified risks are appropriately defined and mitigating controls are operating effectively. The ideal candidate will coordinate with other risk related groups to ensure accuracy of financial statements and compliance with regulatory requirements and drive business ownership of internal controls. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, self-starter with the ability to communicate effectively and work in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Lead internal control assessments and monitor methodologies to validate the presence and effectiveness of key controls and ensure compliance with the Company’s risk and controls matrix, GAAP, and internal policies & procedures.Lead and/or participate on multiple projects simultaneously ensuring each engagement is conducted in an efficient and effective manner.Define and identify control gaps and provide recommendations (remediation/mitigation) for control process improvements.Identify and evaluate changes resulting from control design certifications to include internal controls documentation and remediation, and partner with business cycle and process owners to implement effective solutions.Perform process assessments and internal controls walkthroughs to clearly identify/validate controls.Responsible for the maintenance and preparation of detailed and accurate documentation, including narratives, control descriptions, risk and control matrices, process flowcharts, and management responses and remediation.Lead internal controls design certifications, narratives, and control testing, communicate status to control owners, and determine need for escalations.Manage task status in AuditBoard (Governance Risk and Compliance tool) related to the design and operational effectiveness of key controls.Assist internal customers with troubleshooting and resolution of system issues/problems related to ICG tools.Collaborate with stakeholders and build relationships across the enterprise on various efforts surrounding the integrity of the financial control environment.Perform special projects and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 4 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 2 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 8 years’ experience in a related field. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and presentation skills needed to work effectively with teams throughout the organization.

CPA or CIA certification preferredWorking knowledge of Auditboard preferredAutomotive industry experience preferred
