Senior International Accountant

Job Summary

Avient has been heavily involved in M&A, completing 20 acquisitions and 5 divestitures and has transformed into a pure play specialty formulator of sustainable solutions. Avient is searching for a Senior International Accountant to contribute to the Corporate Accounting group by supporting complex accounting inter-company transactions, including tax and treasury initiatives.

 

Essential Functions

·       Ability to work as a member of a cross-functional team with other internal stakeholders to support global transactions

·       Ability to translate complex accounting and intercompany transactions into journal entries and accounting memos to support proper accounting treatment

·       Supports certain legal entity restructuring projects as well inter-company dividends, return of capital, and debt

·       Exposure to foreign currency matters, translation and consolidation implications

·       Complete review and analysis of fx gains and losses, while working with treasury on related hedging results

·       Work with internal and external auditors to support Avient’s consolidated audit requirements

·       Ensure compliance with Avient’s internal control framework and identify opportunities for enhancements

·       Support the month-end and quarter-end close process

·       Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

·       Bachelors’ Degree - Accounting

·       Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience, preferably with Big Four Public Accounting or experience in an international organization(s)

·       Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

·       Strong attention to detail

·       Ability to work across numerous functions to achieve common goals

·       Ability to be flexible and quickly adapt to change

·       Continuously looking to improve processes and drive automation

·       CPA Preferred
