Senior Inventory Accounting Specialist

The Sr. Inventory Accounting Specialist reports directly to the VP, Controller and will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-pace, cross-functional and international environment with an experienced finance team and drive inventory accounting process standardization and optimization. The Sr. Inventory Accounting Specialist is a key member of the Company’s Global Inventory Center of Excellence (COE). The COE monitors and manages the Company’s accounting for inventory to ensure that it is compliant with both US GAAP and the Company’s accounting policies, maintains effective internal controls over inventory accounting and partners with site operations teams to drive and deliver inventory accounting process excellence and standardization across the Company’s global network. The successful candidate will be forward thinking, adaptable and have a passion for inventory accounting, with the ability to effectively navigate the details of monthly accounting and reporting, but also capable of providing valuable insights to site operations. Responsibilities • Responsible for completing inventory accounting in compliance and within the monthly closing deadlines • Responsibility for the inventory related internal controls at sites supported • Partner with site operations teams to drive and deliver inventory accounting process excellence and valuable insights • Responsible for recording and reconciling the inventory accounting for reserves, capitalized variances and ASC 606 inventory derecognition • Responsible for leading the standard costing process and ensuring adherence to policy • Responsible for coordinating and participating in the annual physical inventory counts and cycle count programs at key sites being supported • Responsible for the monthly and ad-hoc inventory analysis • Support external audits inquiries/requests associated with inventory at sites supported • Lead process improvement activities and system enhancements and implementations, as needed for the above areas Qualifications • BA/BS degree in accounting/finance from an accredited college/university • 5+ years of accounting/finance experience • Experience with inventory and manufacturing cost accounting is strongly desired • Public accounting experience is preferred • Advanced Microsoft Excel and presentation skills required • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) applicable to inventory accounting • Excellent organizational, analytical, conceptual, communication and interpersonal skills are required. • The candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter who can work independently, but also lead projects as necessary across different levels of management, functional groups and site teams. • Enterprise software experience required, Oracle or SAP Pay range: $76,000-$95,500/year Education, experience, location and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
