In the Financial Crimes KYC department at Edward Jones, you will be part of a team of Investigators focused on complying with firm policies/procedures and regulations including, but not limited to BSA, USA Patriot Act, FINRA, SEC, OFAC, OFSI to support a strong anti-financial crime program (AML, Internal and External Fraud). This department partners with branch teams, other home-office departments, leadership, law enforcement, internal audit, and regulators to ensure we are meeting or exceeding regulatory obligations and firm policy while making sure our controls are appropriate, specific, and risk-based.
As the Senior Investigative Specialist you will be responsible for performing various activities to support Know Your Customer (KYC) function, including identifying high-risk client types, conducting due diligence reviews on potential high-risk clients, periodic reviews/updates to KYC records, and assisting with other business initiatives. You will make complex, non-routine decisions independently that may have high impact on clients and the firm. You will be engaged in a collaborative environment where your experience and contributions are valued. The key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Conduct research and provide advice on new customer CDD alerts and Know Your Customer (KYC) filesPerform Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews of high-risk customers. Use customer risk scoring models in accordance with departmental processes and proceduresConduct EDD on new and existing customersStrong documentation skills for EDD findings in appropriate database, including all pertinent facts and information to support conclusionComplete EDD reviews in a timely and efficient manger. Suggest process improvements and/or research tools to increase efficiency and/or accuracyAdvises business partners on the onboarding of new customersReview, resolve and/or escalate adverse media and potential PEP match alertsConsistently maintain awareness of regulatory updates and incorporate process and procedural changes as directed by team leader and department management
