We are seeking a talented individual to join our Wealth team at Mercer. This role will be based in Hong Kong. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
We will count on you to:
Based in Hong Kong, this role will handle client servicing from investment technical, analytical and operational aspects and provide high quality advisory and investment solution services.
Deliver client work and engage in business development activities. You will take a proactive approach in business development and client deliveries for existing and prospective clients by working with global and regional colleagues in Mercer.
(1) Client Engagement:
Act as a client service manager for investment clients across advisory and investment solutions. Cover client enquiries from investment technical and operational aspects by working with specialists in various regions.Ensure high quality investment deliverables.Provide support for client meetings for senior consultants and key investment professionals. Prepare briefing notes and presentation materials to be used in client meetings and coordination of relevant account information, in addition to compiling ad-hoc value-add material as appropriate.(2) Business Development:
Engage business development process across preparing decks, proposals and service materials.Produce written material on Mercer investment capabilities and service offering with support by senior professionals.Cover client reports and advice with support from senior colleagues, including conducting investment performance analytics, manager reviews and manager selection work, asset-liability modelling and strategic asset allocation exercises. The type of advice you can deliver would be subject to HK SFC requirements.Manage client profile, including updating client contact information, logging meeting notes, and reporting of activities.(3) Project Management:
Have project management responsibilities appropriate for this role. This will cover traditional as well as alternative investments, for one-off projects as well as nurturing ongoing relationships.Coordinate the project process by effectively communicating/ organizing with internal professionals.Work with the guidance from senior team members on investment related analysis, utilising historical performance databases and in-house capital asset models to develop investment advice on client’s long-term investment objectives.Handle client queries and requirements and support senior colleagues on delivery.(4) Others:
Contribute to Mercer’s business strategy through developing new skills to deliver projects to enhance financial education and develop retirement planning ideas and concepts.Effective interaction with Mercer’s global professionals in various markets by different asset classes and project themes.Direct junior colleagues in carrying out different research and analytics, as part of forming Mercer’s local views on issues that clients will be interested in.What you need to have:
Good academic track record, preferably in numerical subjects such as Economics, Mathematics, Finance (Accounting/ Management/ Behavioural) and related field.Proven experience in the investment industry and track record working with clients. Good track record for servicing asset owners and financial institutions.8+ years of proven experience in the investment industry such as client servicing, investment strategy, advisory, portfolio management, product development, research/ quant analysis and on boarding etc.Experience in analytical coverage and dealing with various investment products.Familiarity working in a global firm environment by independently and proactively working with added responsibilities and actively participating in projects.Outstanding project management skill, in planning ahead the different milestones to achieve and execute in a timely manner with strong commitment on quality.Strong analytical and technical skills. Comfortable with conducting comparative analysis, managing large amounts of data in an efficient manner. Ability to articulate complex and technical information in layman and concise ways through written and verbal communication.Self-initiative and curiosity in financial services, self-motivated to seek out knowledge, test ideas and ways to contribute to the team. Ability to build relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively with team members. Proactively collaborate with colleagues including seniors and take care of internal and external clients’ needs to meet their requirements.Strong team player. Open to working as a team with positive mind set and actively collaborate with various internal and external parties.Good command on MS Office applications (MS-Excel, MS-Word, Outlook). Strong IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.Strong language capabilities in written and spoken English, Cantonese and/or Mandarin.Why join our team:
