This position will be a hybrid role based out of our Columbus, OH office. The team comes in three times a week, typically Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. This is an Investments H band role.

Job Description Summary
Nationwide Investments employs a research driven, team oriented, and results focused investment process to manage our clients’ portfolios. The Emerging Markets Debt team conducts the non-U.S. country and sovereign risk research for Nationwide Investments and invests according to the mandate of our clients. The Emerging Markets Sovereign Analyst - Senior Investment Professional position will conduct thorough country-risk analysis for the emerging markets where Nationwide has domiciled investment exposure and where opportunities may exist. This role will likewise help grow the internal emerging markets sovereign research and investment capabilities. This role may also include people leader responsibilities.As a potential people leader, you may also be responsible for the overall performance of the team, as well as management of individual associates. Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Covers mid-large, moderately complex accounts using significant judgement on moderate to complex asset class research issues. Accountable for multiple processes or programs and may have input on department budgets.
Demonstrates a broad knowledge of more than one discipline as a senior individual contributor and/or may perform people leader duties. May also impact department and functional management. Role will have a mix of individual, strategic and departmentally focused responsibilities.
Independently completes research and analysis at a high level of complexity on mid-large, moderately complex issuers in the asset class.
Drives the development and implementation of new practices or services to Identify risk and return drivers, develops and models forward-looking scenarios, analyzes relative value, and provides investment recommendations for positioning within assigned sectors.
Identifies innovative solutions and/or make decisions that impact the function or investment portfolio in support of the team’s investment decision-making process.
Executes business plans and contributes to strategy development of own area.
Accountable for multiple processes or programs, directly impacting investments results, and may have input on departmental budgets.
Communicates analysis and investment theses through use of written reports, presentations, conversations, and market meetings.
Evaluates changes in the economic, regulatory, legislative, and competitive business environments that impact investment fundamentals, valuations, and positioning within client portfolios.
Builds relationships with internal and external partners to facilitate the analysis of investment opportunities.
Collaborates successfully with other Nationwide Investment groups to advance our clients’ best interests.
Participate in various internal forums intended to keep all stakeholders informed of credit market developments.
Completes ad-hoc projects or participates as a project subject matter expert as needed.
May be a people leader within the asset class.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Head of Asset Class; may lead a team of Investment Analysts/Professionals
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree; MBA or CFA preferred
Experience: 8 to 12 years of related investment experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Conversant in Emerging Markets Research processes and methodologies, as well as other major fixed income and equity valuation methodologies
Considered an expert Emerging Markets Researcher
Proficient in Excel; prior Bloomberg experience is a plus
Leadership potential or currently capable of being a team leader
Advanced understanding of Emerging Markets Research tools and processes
Demonstrates presence with excellent verbal and written communication skills
