The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.
Key responsibilities:
Design, development, implementation and support of business and manufacturing software processes, functions, and systems in manufacturing environment.
This includes:
Design, development, test and support of Engineering and data analysis systems written in VB.NET, ASP.NET, C#. Creating and optimizing image processing algorithms. Supporting optical equipment – high speed video cameras, video cameras’ API, quality control benches and measurement equipment. Converting legacy ASP and VB applications to new ASP.NET Core, C#. Integration MES systems with SAP ERP. Creating detailed technical documentation. Work closely together across other organizations (Engineering, Manufacturing, Customer Service, and IT) in a manufacturing plant Provide off-hours support for existing software and equipment based on rotation
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors or master’s in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Optics or similar. 7+ years for software development experience in manufacturing, engineering design or scientific research fields.
Requirements:
Very good knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio 201x (.NET, VB, C#) Experiences in manufacturing IT or Engineering. Very good knowledge of SQL databases e.g. Oracle, MSSQL Server Good knowledge of signal and image processing algorithms. Good knowledge of Web development toolset. Knowledge of data analysis, business modelling, optimization algorithms. Understanding Principles of Optics. Some knowledge of National Instrument data acquisition equipment. Some knowledge of TwinCat (or similar) automation software and controls. Some knowledge of SAP ERP desirable. Some knowledge of Python and cloud application development desirable. Good English skills, in verbal and written form.
Soft Skills:
Self-motivated and well organized Collaborate with multiple teams across multiple regions. Process oriented and customer focused.

The range for this position is $106,089.00 - $145,873.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
