Position Overview International is not just building trucks – it's forging the future of mobility. International Motors has a great opportunity for a Senior IT Integration Architect. This is a hybrid position based three days per week at our headquarters in Lisle, Illinois and reports to the Associate Director, IT Enterprise Architecture. The Senior IT Integration Architect is responsible for the leading the integration architecture and assuring future-oriented integrations of software programs, applications, and third-party solutions to meet the business requirements of the organization. The integration needs are primarily focused on connecting on-premise and cloud-based COTS platforms, as well as custom-developed web and mobile solutions. This individual is also responsible for developing and maintaining an application integration architecture blueprint and roadmap for the organization. Responsibilities Assure that International’s integration roadmap aligns to the emerging Traton integration architecture future state and wherever possible, to Traton standard technologies and tools. Drive integration technology decisions so that solution choices naturally result in integration technology rationalization and modernization. Work with technology teams in definition of requirements for integration methods, specific tools and operational performance metrics. Provide expert advice to technology teams on use of integration technology, integration modeling, and overall system architecture to embed integration best practices. Provide oversight in standards adherence through reviews of detailed technical specifications and application code. With positivity, political savvy and tact, lead integration architecture discussions with IT and business colleagues to guide technology designs and decisions. Create and maintain International’s documentation for application integration methods, standards and practices that define integration patterns and tools fit to specific architecture types, technology stacks, use cases and COTS applications. Establish and maintain an application integration review process that assures standardized and future-oriented integration solutions vs. localized or bespoke solutions. Assure the maintenance of commercial and open source integration tools within International’s technology ecosystem, together with the specific standards and procedures applicable to each. Assist with incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem resolution. Partner with Information Security & Risk Management to ensure that integration solutions and their implementations align with security policies and best practices. Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, products and best practices that will evolve International’s integration technology posture with modern solutions. Indirectly or directly lead internal resources or externally sourced team members. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree At least 15 years of Information Technology or IT architecture experience At least 2 years of lead experience OR Master’s degree At least 12 years of Information Technology or IT architecture experience At least 2 years of lead experience OR At least 17 years of Information Technology or IT architecture experience At least 2 years of lead experience Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. International Motors does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status) Desired Skills Deep understanding of “what good looks like” for integration architecture processes, standards and procedures. Expert in system integration methods and technologies including Web services, SOAP, JSON, XML Schema Definition (XSD), Extensible Markup Language (XML), etc. Experience driving modern integrations where the technology ecosystem includes microservices architectures, API design and implementation, event-based integration, accelerated software development, DevSecOps, CI/CD and other modern software engineering and delivery practices Deep, hands-on experience designing and building integrations with: Modern integration platforms (i.e., Workato, Boomi, MuleSoft, SnapLogic, Jitterbit, etc.) Azure-centric tools (i.e., Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, Data Factory and Power Automate) AWS-centric tools (i.e., Event Bridge, AppFlow, AppFabric, Glue, Transfer Family, Notification Service, Queue Service) Application-centric tools (i.e., SAP BTP Integration Suite, Manhattan Integration Framework [MIF], Pega Integration Designer, etc.) Familiarity with open source application and data integration frameworks and in what specific circumstances they add superior value (i.e., Meltano, Airbyte, Camel, etc.) Deep understanding of the architectural principles for cloud-based platforms that include SaaS, PaaS, multi-tenancy, and automation Hands-on experience and expertise in the capabilities and technical methods to implement solutions in public cloud services (i.e., technical capabilities and methods applicable to AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP). Foundational understanding of enterprise and industry architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, IT4IT, BIAN, TMForum, etc. Experience with the implementation of Continuous Integration practices and tooling to support automated build, delivery and regression test of commercial software Proven experience in managing relationships with vendors/consultants, IT teams and internal stakeholders Experience working with API’s depth of experience with various API management solutions (i.e., RapidAPI, Kong, Axway, Gravitee.io, Microsoft APIM, Smartbear, Postman, Backstage, etc.) A passion for all things tech and has a drive to experiment with new technologies to see where they can benefit the business Excellent communication skills Established project management skills Very high self-motivation and accountability with a strong drive for tangible, value-adding outcomes and deliverables Demonstration of professionalism, diplomacy, authenticity and a drive for results Intrinsically motivated to continuously improve team performance and to grow team skills and competencies Excellent communication where complex technical and process elements are communicated clearly and concisely in language that less technical IT and business colleagues can understand Strong relationship building and relationship management with all colleagues, where positive and productive interactions are the norm and where the interactions engender trust and goodwill Excellent persuasion and collaboration skills, partnering with cross-functional teams and stakeholders such that those stakeholders view him/her as a pleasure to work with Ability to envision, describe and gain buy-in from others toward enterprise-level solutions Excellent technical writing skills, leading to the efficient authorship and maintenance of International’s application integration processes, standards and procedures Demonstrated success at balancing ideal versus pragmatic information technology architecture Proven ability to balance business needs and objectives against architectural standards and best practices Experience working in a matrixed environment, preferably on an international level Benefits and Compensation We provide a competitive total rewards package which ensures job satisfaction both on and off the job.
