Responsibilities

Job Purpose

Senior IT Internal Auditor will lead projects outlined in the audit plan to improve Pattern Energy operations and compliance. The audit projects range from Internal Controls testing, IT system-pre-implementation, and may include other operational audits and advisory projects in Cybersecurity and Operational Technology. This role would review records, IT systems, and functions, interview personnel, and perform other procedures relevant to a particular department operation. Senior IT Internal Auditor will work cross-functionally to help management determine the effectiveness of its operations, and work with department mangers on a plan to address audit recommendations. 

 

Key Accountabilities

Conduct audits of Information Technology infrastructure, operations, pre and post implementation audits of enterprise systems, applications, development, and Cybersecurity to assess compliance with policies, standards, procedures, laws and regulations, the safeguarding of assets, and reliability and integrity of operating and financial information and keep management updated on progress.Conduct risk assessment to determine audit scope to best evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the systems and underlying controls. Prepare audit workpapers with appropriate validation and review testing results of work performed by others. Collaborate with stakeholders across the company to develop practical and commercial recommendations which add value to those areas under review.Effectively validate and document remediation of audit issues and improvement opportunities.Review audit work papers and communicate the results of projects via written reports and oral presentations to management.Plan and perform walkthroughs over technology processes and some business processes to evaluate design and effectiveness of Pattern’s internal processes and controls. Demonstrate and apply strong project management skills to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.Communicate audit results via written reports and oral presentations to management. Qualifications

Educational and Work Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Accounting, Finance, or related fields.Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in internal / external audit and / or consulting (Big 4 audit firm is highly preferred).Professional licenses (CISA) requiredOther professional certification (e.g., CISM, CISSP, CIA.), preferred.Experience in leading and/or performing risk-based Cybersecurity assessments, system pre-implementation and other IT or financial operational audits, including SOX or internal controls testing.Understanding of internal controls concepts, internal auditing standards, risk assessment practices, COSO three lines of defence, etc. Experience documenting workpapers and writing meaningful reports and presentations.Experience in auditing an international company s preferred.Experience with Operational Technology, Industrial Control Systems (ICS), SCADA, DCS is preferred. Renewable energy industry experience is preferred.

A passion for risk management, audit and wanting to understand how processes work.Strategic thinker with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to extract business risk from technology areas and propose mitigations to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to understand business processes to identify process issues, control deficiencies and business problems and recommend potential solutions.Initiative in pursuing appropriate, timely and effective solutions to complex issuesAbility to respond to time sensitive issues with quick turnaround.Maintain a current knowledge base of audit, Cybersecurity, and IT industry practices to ensure best practices are always considered.Eager to learn about Pattern Energy and the renewable energy industry and operational technology and industrial control systems.Willingness to learn new business processes and clearly document process controls.Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.

 

The expected starting pay range for this role is $90,000- $122,000 USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels.
