Position SummaryThe Senior IT Project Manager will lead and oversee the successful delivery of complex IT initiatives that align with organizational goals and deliver measurable value. This role requires a seasoned professional who excels in project governance, communication, and stakeholder management. Additionally, this role requires a high level of technical acumen, leadership skills, and a results-driven approach to project delivery. The ideal candidate has experience with data conversions and enterprise data warehouse transformations. This position reports to the IT Project Management Office, which is part of the IT Business Services Office, led by the Senior Vice President of the IT BSO, which ultimately reports up to the Chief Information Officer.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Project LeadershipDefine and manage project objectives, scope, deliverables, and success criteria in alignment with organizational strategy and stakeholder expectations.Drive project execution while adhering to the organization's project management methodologies and best practices, including waterfall, agile, and hybrid approaches.Governance and Risk ManagementEstablish and maintain comprehensive project governance structures, including project charters, steering committees, and change control boards.Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, leveraging data-driven approaches to ensure timely resolutions.Stakeholder Engagement and CommunicationCollaborate with executive sponsors, business unit leadership, and technical teams to ensure project alignment with business objectives.Provide clear and transparent project updates to stakeholders at all levels, ensuring alignment, buy-in, and continued support throughout the project lifecycle.Budget and Resource ManagementDevelop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial tracking in alignment with organizational guidelines.Quality Assurance and DeliveryEnsure deliverables meet quality standards and compliance requirements through robust quality management practices.Continuous ImprovementEstablish lessons-learned documentation and actively contribute to the improvement of project management processes, tools, and templates.Mentor junior project managers and contribute to building a high-performance IT Project Management Office.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each responsibility. Skills & CompetenciesAdvanced leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and drive decisions across organizational boundaries.Deep understanding of Project Management Institute principles, including the PMBOK Guide and project management frameworks.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.Demonstrated expertise in managing large, transformational, and cross-functional IT projects with a strong focus on delivering measurable business value.Ability to manage processes and personnel even if those activities and individuals are not directly accountable to the individual from an organizational standpoint.ExperienceA minimum of 8 years of progressive project management experience, with at least 3 years in a senior project management role leading IT initiatives.Experience leading enterprise data warehouse projects or initiatives involving data analytics, business intelligence, big data, or advanced insights generation is highly desirable.Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., banking, healthcare) is preferred.Education & CertificationsBachelor’s degree in business administration, information technology, management information systems, or a related field.An active PMP certification is required.Additional certifications (e.g., PMI-ACP, ITIL, SAFe, CSM) are highly desirable.Technical Proficiency Proficiency in project management tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar platforms.Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Microsoft Visio.Familiarity with IT systems, cloud platforms, and enterprise architecture is a plus.Experience with Microsoft Power BI and SQL is highly desirable.Other QualificationsStrong time management, oral, written and presentation skills.Must demonstrate strong strategic thinking, judgment, motivation, dependability, project management, and analytical skills and qualities.Collaborative mind-set with strong people skills.OtherPlease note this job description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the associate for this job.
