Responsibilities

The Mayo Clinic Special Purpose Processor Development Group (SPPDG) is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) with system administrator experience to join our research group. The Mayo Clinic SPPDG is an R&D team dedicated to the development of next generation electronics and optics technologies for high-speed signal processing applications, high clock rate digital signal processors and wide bandwidth, high center frequency analog systems. Information security responsibilities include developing and maintaining policies, standards, guidelines, procedures and system security plans, and managing and performing security compliance monitoring based on risk management framework (RMF) concepts and applicable NIST standards. Responsibilities also include keeping apprised of government and institutional security requirements, submission of required forms and documentation, and communication of IT security related issues with the appropriate authorities. The candidate is also expected to be capable of facilitating and performing primary computer support for the SPPDG Windows and Linux platforms. 



Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related major and a minimum of eight (8) years experience in IT system administration required, OR Associates degree and ten (10) years experience in IT system administration, OR in lieu of a degree, Twelve (12) years experience in IT system administration required. 

Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a TS/SCI clearance and adhere to security requirements as described in the NISPOM. Certified as CISSP or will obtain certification within 1 year of hire. Therefore, must be US citizen.

Successful candidates will have the following preferred experience:

Hands-on experience in Windows or Linux Administration, with expertise in group policy management and fundamental network conceptsSenior-level IT experience in information security and risk management, particularly in roles such as Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) or similar      Ability to implement Risk Management Framework, handle security controls, assessments and authorizations in accordance with NIST guidelinesExperience leading or participating in security audits and risk assessmentsFamiliarity with conducting vulnerability scansKnowledge of incident response and disaster recovery planningExperience with continuous monitoring and reporting in a regulated environmentProficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell or bash for automation tasksFamiliarity with cloud security platforms (Azure)Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions

$127,316.80 - $191.027.20 / year; Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
