Expert Java developer to provide analysis, design, development, unit testing, validation testing, implementation, and post-implementation support, as assigned, in a Java environment. Work may include front-end, back-end and/or web service development.
Skills Requirements:
The candidate must demonstrate the experience and ability to analyze extremely complex client requirements and recommend, and execute, sophisticated development strategies. Candidate must also perform hands-on development tasks, including coding, unit testing, validation testing and implementation support tasks. S/he must demonstrate the ability to assist the client in developing strategic plans and concepts; and to provide technical experience in highly specialized technical and professional areas, on an enterprise-wide scale. Such areas of expertise may include, but are not limited to: Section 508 compliance, business process engineering, and other technical and non-technical areas.
Qualifying experience must include specific experience in deploying professional business and/or technical solutions across organizations with more than 40,000 users, or across smaller complex organizations with public/government/media exposure, or in other organizations where such expertise was relied upon to pursue new technologies, design lines of business, or defend business decisions before third parties. Must demonstrate knowledge of technologies/business practices and lessons-learned applicable to large enterprises, large scale projects, and enterprise-wide deployments. Must demonstrate experience in the development of best practices for enterprise-size clients. Must demonstrate the experience and ability to work without technical oversight and to lead and/or supervise a team of specialists. Must possess superior oral and written communications skills in order to clearly and effectively convey issues and ideas to team members, management and the customer.
The candidate must demonstrate experience in developing and recommending creative and innovative solutions, and applying expert knowledge to determine the accuracy and reasonableness of situational and causal data. Must have performed highly specialized technical tasks typically associated with leading edge technologies, best practices, or new business processes.
Specific technical skills desired include:
Front-end development skills: Struts 2 / Tiles, HTML / JavaScript, JSP, JSP Custom Tag Libraries, YUI and/or JQuery.
Server-side component design skills: Object-Oriented Design with Java EE 6 and up, Jax-WS Webservice development, Apache OpenJPA or similar, EJB 3.0, common frameworks such as Ant, JUnit, Log4J.
Other: Usability and Section 508 principles, SQL development for IBM DB2, WebSphere deployment.
Education:
The Subject Matter Expert 3 must hold a Bachelor’s degree (minimum.)
Bachelor's Degree in a technical field and at least 11 years of experience. Certifications are desirable.
