The State and Local Government Organization of HP is seeking one (1) Senior Java Developer for a Motor Vehicle modernization project. Only candidates who can be on-site in Trenton during working hours (8:00 AM 5:00 PM local time) will be considered - work cannot be done on a remote basis. NO REMOTE!
Position Details
Consultant Role/Responsibilities or Tasks on Project:
Seeking a Sr. Java Developer to be part of a technical team that is developing a motor vehicle system for the State of New Jersey. This position must work onsite at the client location 5-days per week in the Trenton, New Jersey.
The development team is comprised of a Software Development Leader, Technical Leaders and Java developers at all skill/experience levels within the Trenton, NJ (Primary) and Dublin OH (secondary) locations. The scope of work for the solution includes functionality for Driver License, Vehicle, Title and Registration, Reporting, Business licensing and inspections.
The Sr. Java Developer is a senior technical resource who is capable of working with limited direction to tackle assignments as provided by the Technical Lead or Software Development Leader. The candidate must be able to mentor junior developers as well as perform their own assignments. The resource is expected to quickly understand both the business and technical domain to become productive and provide recommendations to address needs of the contract and client.
Education/Experience Requirements: REQUIRED
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration or similar area of study and over 8 years of previous experience. Masters Degree preferred.
Required Skills:
5+ Years of experience with J2E stack
8+ Years of IT development experience
Strong Java web interface development skills - MVC patterns, Servlets, JSPs, HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, and CSS
3+ years of hands-on experience with Spring
3+ years of hands-on experience with EJBs
3+ years of hands-on experience with Hibernate and exposure to Hibernate tools
3+ years of experience with Web Services development
2+years of experience implementing WebServices security with WS-Security
3+ years of experience of using jUnit
Solid experience in defect identification and resolution
Working knowledge of relational database systems including Oracle
Mentor and coach team members as needed
Strong written and oral communications skills
Must be a team player
Optional Skills:
2+ years of experience implementing Java Server Faces (JSF version 1.1, 1.2 and 2.0) and JSF Facelets
2+ years of RichFaces components experience
2+ years of Spring Webflow experience
Motor vehicle experience
Experience using IBM Rational Application Developer tool
Experience in creating UML diagrams using Rational suite
Knowledge of JRule Rule Engine
Experience on Websphere Application server
Exposure to JMS and WebSphere MQ
Knowledge of reporting tools like Crystal/BI
