The Opportunity:

Avantor is seeking a self-motivated and proactive Senior Laboratory Technician to join our team in Speke, Liverpool. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a leading global company and contribute to the egg management process, including preparing red blood cells and performing routine cell culture. You’ll also provide support to scientists across various projects on an ad-hoc basis.

This full-time, permanent position is based at our Speke facility (Boulevard Industry Park, Speke, Liverpool, L24 9JW), a key location for vaccine production. Working hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM – 4:45 PM, with early finish on Friday from 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM.

The Team

You will be joining a collaborative team of 8 Laboratory and Senior Laboratory Technicians, all working together towards a common goal: supporting scientists in advancing their research. This role is part of our Lab and Production Services department, where we support major pharmaceutical companies and laboratories globally within the Research and Development sector of the Life Sciences industry.

What we’re looking for

Education: A degree is not required, but knowledge and understanding of how laboratory works are essentialExperience: Minimum 6 months of laboratory experience in a professional environmentExperience working with eggs (monitoring, growing, completing required paperwork) is an advantageExcellent communicator, who is not afraid to speak in front of a customer, stay calm and collected and speak up during meetingsTeam player, with a can-do, positive attitude
