Job Title: Landman Senior: 

Summary: The primary responsibility of the Senior Landman is to handle an assigned geographical area of Diamondback Energy’s holdings. The Senior Landman will be responsible for the leadership of an asset area and will coordinate with teams and/or technical professionals to ensure the company objectives and goals are met. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage complex land assignmentsMake recommendations regarding complex agreements, leases, and contractsProvide technical and strategic advice on complex land negotiationsReview of legal and financial obligationsEnsure company drill schedule expectations are met within the asset area with all company disciplinesManage brokers and attorneys in title and curative matters as appropriateReview AFE’s for accuracy and clear title for drilling locationsDue diligence of acquisitions and divestituresProvide guidance to support staff and mentorship to fellow landmen

 Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Energy Management, Petroleum Land Management, Business Administration, or related fieldAt least five (5) years of progressive Land experience with at least three (3) of those being in-houseAt least four (4) years of demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office, (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)High-level understanding of Land and exploration and production issuesStrong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills

 Preferred Qualifications:

Permian Basin experience preferredMember of AAPLAptitude to apply strategic thinking skills to identify and evaluate logically and creatively various factors that can have a current and future business impactAbility to operate both independently and as part of a teamDemonstrate effective leadership skillsPossess a strong attention to detail and flexibility regarding workload and priorities while also maintaining commercial awareness and a broader view of a business situationStrong organizational and time management skillsProven track record of being able to problem solve and think creativelySelf-starter requiring minimal supervision
