Thorough understanding of the Informatica environment and how to work with parameters, variables and overrides.
Versed in best practices to ensure code is highly maintainable and understandable.
Highly experienced at working with Informatica as it relates to a Teradata environment. Understand the various methods and tools for loading data to Teradata, and when to use them.
Informatica PowerExchange v9.1
Experienced at using PowerExchange for reading data from the mainframe.
Understand/create datamaps, schemas and how they are used by Informatica PowerCenter.
Teradata
Understanding of how Teradata uses parallel processing and the ramifications of the multi amp environment, and how it relates to the creation and use of indexes.
Experienced using Teradata SQL.
Understand the importance of statistics in the Teradata environment.
General Data Warehousing expertise.
Good understanding of data warehouse principals, the difference between dimensional and 3rd normal form modeling.
Understanding of maintaining changing dimensions, and the difference between type 1 and type 2 dimensions.
Able to code Informatica to support both types.
Able to assist modelers to craft warehouse architectures and models that support both the business need and efficient ETLprocesses.
Responsible for understanding the strategic architecture roadmap and turning that into practical application, coding solutions that are compliant and go forward.
